The Mountain Gorillas of Uganda are found in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (MGNP) and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP).Both national parks provide a home of over half of the world’s population of highly endangered Mountain Gorillas.
The parks have also been a home to the indigenous Batwapeople who have lived here for years. The Batwa with unexploited knowledge of forest have been trained as guides to help visitors in tracking Gorillas and animals.
For Conservation reasons, visits to the gorillas are tightly controlled. Visitors pay fees for visiting Gorillas and the number of visitors are restricted. Visits are allowed to only habituated gorillas families. Tracking Regulationsare in place.
