The guests arriving in Uganda both by road and air have been on the increase over the last seven years. The major border immigration posts include Malaba, Busia, Mutukula, Katuna and Entebbe International Airport. The airport is the only airport a guest can use to enter Uganda by air.
1,150,000 guests arrived into the country in 2011 compared to 946,000 guests who arrived in 2010.
On average 74% of the guest arrivals recorded are from Africa, 12% are from Europe, 6% from the Americas and 4%from Asia. During the period 2005-11, the number of African guests steadily grew by 160%. The number of total guest arrivals in 2011 is more than double that in 2005.

The number of guest arriving by air through Entebbe International Airport has increased from 172,000 in 2005 to 368,000 in 2011 an increase of 115%. The number of guests entering by road has increased from about 296,000 in 2005 to about 368,000 in 2011 an increase of 164%.
