Private Public Partnership (PPP) relates to a government service or private business venture which is funded and operated through a partnership of government and private sector companies. Private Public Partnership was established in 1990’s as a key mechanism of public policy in the country. PPPs have become a regular practice across the diverse sectors of government service provision stretching from construction of roads, telecommunication networks, prisons, hospitals, schools, universities, local markets, bus parks, slaughter houses, recreation centers and roads.
In the last few years both public and private sectors in Uganda have picked interest in PPPs because of the opportunities they offer.
