There is limited agricultural value addition (agro-processing) in Uganda.
About 80 percent of the agricultural production is still carried out by smallholder farmers and the level of value-addition has not changed fundamentally.
The limited value-addition implies that a significant part of the national income is lost to Uganda’s importing partners.
Over the past 50 years, the value for this indicator has fluctuated between $3 870 911,000 in
2010 and $211 043 400 in 1960, the value for Agriculture, value added (current US$) in Uganda was $3 870 911 000 as of 2010.
