Location
Kibale National Park set on 795 sq km of land and is located in Kibale-Fort Portal area . It provides a 180 km corridor for wildlife between Ishasha and Sebitoli. The park which was gazetted in 1993 ranks among the Africa’s foremost research sites.
Vegetation
It has a forest varied tracts of tropical forest cover interspersed with patches of grassland and swamps.
Biodiversity
The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species including 13 species of primate. It has over 375 species of birds recorded by the park. It is also a home of over 351 species of trees and a number of them over 55m and more than 200 years old.
