Muteesa I Royal University is a private university licensed by the National Council for Higher Education in April 2005 and commenced operations in October 2007. The university is located 120km west of Kampala City and also has a campus located along Walakira Road in Mengo. The university currently has a student enrolment of 1828 students offering various courses at diploma and degree levels in the following faculties;
