Location
Arua Town is located in the northwest part of Uganda (West Nile area) and is about 480 km from Kampala City. It is less than an hour’s drive from Arua Town to South Sudan border. The border with Democratic Republci of Congo is also nearby. The town has the following coordinates 03 01 48N, 30 54 36E (Latitude:3.0300; Longitude:30.9100). The town is an important commercial centre for the sub-region as it was the capital of the former West Nile province which consisted of present day Arua, Nebbi and Moyo districts
Arua is a pleasant place with many facilities like town’s golf course, Banks, Supermarkets, Airport etc. The roads leading to this beautiful northen Uganda town feature scenic spots like, the River Nile- the longest river in the world, Murchison Falls National Park and Large scale Tobacco plantations.

In 2011, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) estimated the population of the town at 59,400.

Transport
Apart from road transport, a traveler can fly to Arua Airport from Entebbe International Airport. This is the second busiest airport after Entebbe International Airport.

Arua Airport
Arua Airport is a civilian airport in Uganda. It is located in the town of Arua, Arua District, West Nile Sub-Region, in Northern Uganda, close to the International borders with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and with South Sudan. The airport is located only 12 miles (19 km) from Uganda’s border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and about 20 miles (32 km) from the border between Uganda and South Sudan. The coordinates of this airport are 03°02′50″N 030°54′44″E. Its location is approximately 371 kilometres (231 mi), by air, northwest of Entebbe International Airport, Uganda’s largest airport.
Arua Airport is one of the 46 airports in the country. It is the second-busiest airport in Uganda, behind Entebbe International Airport. Its strategic location makes Arua Airport an important center for both commercial and passenger air traffic between Uganda and her two neighbors, Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan.
