Location
The garden is located in Entebbe Town, Uganda on shores 0f Lake Victoria. The gardens are less than 5 minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport and about 34 km from Kampala City, the capital of Uganda .The gardens which were established in 1898 are set on a 40 hectares plot of land and opportunities offered by the gardens include the following;
- A place for leisure,
- Learning how to care of our environment,
- Learning how to care and conserve useful plants
- Learning about different species of plants.
Birds
Entebbe Botanical Gardens is a home for many species of birds including water birds.
Mammals
The residents of the gardens include the Vervet, Black-and-white colobus monkeys, Tree squirrels among others.
Plants
The gardens house collections of many species of tropical. sub-tropical and temperate zone plants and several shrubs and other plants. The collections are over 309 species of plants including 199 indigenous plants to Uganda, 122 known medicinal value plants and 110 exotic plants.
Visitors
The gardens host over 40,000 visitors per annual since its rehabilitation in 1998.
