Description
Kabalagala is a suburb of Kampala City which operates 24 hours. The name Kabalagala comes from a local type of pancake made from cassava flour and sweet bananas and is spiced with local peppers. Hawkers of this food variety would pull up to motorists as they were waiting to turn right or left at the junction and yell “Kabalagala”.
Location
Kabalagala is bordered by Kibuli to the Northwest, Namuwongo to the Northeast, Muyenga to the East and Southeast, Kansanga to the South, Lukuli to the Southwest and Nsambya to the West. Kabalagala is located about 6 km on Ggaba.
Importance of the Kabalagala
Kabalagala is famous for its many restaurants, bars and nightclubs. It is a major entertainment center, with many of the establishments open 24 hours, 7 days a week. It has become a vibrant business hub, with commercial banks, supermarkets, fuel stations and a University Campus. It is a favourite hangout for visitors to Uganda.
Nightlife in Kabalagala
Kabalagala is the disco capital of the world. Although some nights are peaceful, many of them are broken by ear-piercing music. The two biggest discos are De Posh and Dive Inn.
