Location
Lira Town is located approximately 110 kilometres Southeast of Gulu Town, on the highway between Gulu and Mbale and is approximately 270 Kms from Kampala City.

Tourist attraction
- Balonyo massacre grave is located 45 minutes from Lira Town; it is an area where 300 people killed by the Lord’s Resistance Army were buried.
- Olwemy Swamp
- It is a home of hills like Amor hills, Agwang hills, Ngetta hills, Adeko hills and Labwor hills.
Lira Airport
Lira Airport is the largest domestic civilian airport in Uganda.
