The Kingdom is located in Eastern Uganda and its capital is at Bugembe near Jinja Town. The King is called ‘KYABAZINGA’ and the Queen is called ‘NYINAYIFE’. The Busoga Kingdom is bounded on the North by the swampy Lake Kyoga which separates it from Apach, on the West by the Victoria Nile which separates it from Mukono , on the south by Lake Victoria which separates it from Tanzania and Kenya, and on the East by the Mpologoma River. Busoga also includes Buvuma islands in Lake Victoria.

In Busoga kingdom, the successor to the throne does not come from the same family but elected from the Royal Traditional chiefs
