Location
Tororo Rock lies 5 kilometres, southeast of the Tororo Town centre and 230 kilometres east of Kampala City. This steep volcano which rises to about 1800 metres above sea level can be seen from a distance. The rock is a distinguished feature and a prominent landmark in Uganda.
Tourist attractions
The rock is a major tourist attraction in Uganda as it has several ancestral caves and various rock paintings on its slopes. Local resident regard the mighty rock a cultural heritage.
It is among the most challenging rock to climb. Tourists trekking the Rock are destined for a steep landscape through narrow track winds. It’s extremely cool on reaching the rock summit. While at the summit one gets a commanding view of the surrounding areas.
