Uganda is endowed with wildlife which is composed of its flora and fauna.
Uganda is unrivalled on the continent as a bird watching destination with over 1,000 species of birds – several of which are found nowhere else on the planet. It is also home to over 364 species of mammals, 13 types of primates including over half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas; and our closest relative – the chimpanzee. The Uganda kob, the national antelope, is a near endemic.
Most the wildlife in protected areas is managed by Managed by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)
The best time for game viewing is in the dry season (December-February and June-September).
